Description
Synodontis nigrita Gold is a striking variant of the African upside-down catfish, prized for its unique dark coloration with golden accents and distinctive spotted patterning. This 10-12cm specimen is an ideal size for established aquariums with plenty of hiding spaces and driftwood.
Nocturnal and peaceful, it thrives in soft, acidic water (pH 6.0-7.0) with temperatures between 22-26°C. Provide caves, PVC pipes, or dense vegetation where it can retreat during the day. Feed sinking pellets, frozen foods, and occasional live snacks. These catfish are hardy and long-lived, making them excellent additions to community tanks with similarly-sized, non-aggressive tank mates.
