Description
Black angelfish are elegant freshwater aquarium fish prized for their distinctive triangular shape and striking dark coloration. These 4-5cm specimens are ideal for established community tanks with calm tankmates.
Angelfish thrive in warm, slightly acidic water (24-28°C, pH 6-7) with moderate current and plenty of vertical space. They appreciate tall plants and décor for shelter and territory marking. Feed high-quality flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen micro foods for optimal coloration and health.
Peaceful by nature, they coexist well with tetras, corydoras, and other non-aggressive species. Avoid housing with fin-nippers or very small fish. A minimum 60-liter tank is recommended for a pair.
These captive-bred fish are hardy and suitable for intermediate aquarists. Proper water quality, consistent feeding, and stable conditions support long, healthy lives of 8-10 years.
